Mistwalker’s next game…what could it be?
A lot of rumors considering mistwalker next game, some gamers says it is lost odyssey 2, other says it is blue dragon sequel, and the remaining fan base says it is a new IP.
After the cancelation of cry on, I was expecting Mistwalker to unveil their next game at Microsoft E3 press conference last month but it did not happen. So visiting their website is the only option I have to get some information and guess what I found some.
When you visit there website you are going to notice “column by Sakaguchi” one of his posts called “Lego4″ hinted that his new game will have a blend of rpg style strategy and character growth, and we will know more about the project at the end of the year (may be TGS 2009). Then another post called “Ray of light” was published by him mentioning that he is going to Tokyo for a new project, as he has implemented a system of battle field called “order and chaos” during real time scenes.
So what do you think he is up to? Will he make a traditional JRPG or something new, and what the possibility of him working on Xbox 360 using nattal to revive the JRPG genre?
Let us know by leaving a comment.

Mystwalker must to stop to make games to 360:
First – Microsoft betrayed Mystwalker “buying” the Square-enix games.
Second – Japan HATES xbox360…

But you can’t deny that Microsoft helped mistwalker to make a name for themselves, and you can’t say that microsoft betrayed mistwalker just because square enix released there games for xbox 360.
Microsoft is trying to improve their share in the Japanese market, so they need all the help they can get.

Truth has been said here. Cant agreed more with Ahmad. Btw, Mistwalker really needs to get a better performance in his games. BD and LO are awesome games but both has 1 big problem. BD has a very very boring story (in the disc 1, from this point everthing changes) and LO lacks of polish (slowdowns). If their next game be something like LO, but very very polished, it will be a triple A master seller easilly.

yes i know that blue dragon have problems with it’s story as Nevs said “boring story”
and lost odyssey was lacking polish. i enjoyed lost odyssey more than blue dragon which means mistwalker is getting better with each game they release.
i hope there next game to be more successful critically and financially to encourage them to push the jrpg forward.

@Nevs,
There is no slowdown in Lost Odyssey. It is the most polished JRPG made this generation. I think you mat be referring to the load times before battles, but that isn’t a big deal. If you install the game onto the HDD, it loads faster.

@ tim larkin
lost odyssey does have frame rate issues, but as you said if you install the game on HDD it load so much faster. It is one of the few games that use unreal engine 3 and don’t have pop in and pop out issues.

Agree with you Ahmad

Ok, there are minor hiccups when the cutscenes split into 2 or more frames. It isn’t fair to say that the game has “frame rate issues”. Battles and moving around in the world are smooth. Compared to Oblivion, Lost Odyddey is as smooth as butter.

I can’t believe you’d ever think Blue Dragon is boring. It’s amazing! I completed it in 3 days because I just loved it. The ds game follow ups are absolutely crap though. They need to make blue dragon plus for the xbox360. :/
Have you guys seen the Blue Dragon Show. I have bought the first series but still waiting for it to arrive. Hopefully it’ll be here tomorrow.
