L4D ‘Crash Course’ campaign DLC release date this Thursday (Rumor)

Posted by Ahmad Dajani On September - 6 - 2009

According to ‘Valve news’ twitter feed, the ‘Crash Course’ campaign DLC is set to be released this Thursday (9/10/2009).

The new campaign includes “new locations, new dialogue from the original cast, and an explosive finale,” and it spreads the mayhem across a co-op campaign, survival maps, and a “streamlined version” of the Versus mode experience lasting 30 minutes.

While PC gamers will not pay any penny to get this DLC, Xbox360 gamers must spend 560 Microsoft points (7$) to play this expansion. pretty ironic, don’t you think?

Confirmed: ‘Crash Course’ campaign DLC release date is September 29, 2009.

Update 1:

It seems that ‘Valve news’ isn’t an official twitter account for Valve. But you can follow this link as it confirms that ‘Crash Course’ DLC will be released this month . We will try to contact Valve to see if the ‘Crash Course’ DLC will arrive this Thursday or not. We regret the error and we will try to update this post ASAP.

Update 2:

I have sent an email to Valve just to ask them if we will see the DLC this Thursday, but they haven’t replied to me. I will update this story as soon as I have some informations to share.

Update 3:

It seems that you can play the Crash Course DLC with The hard-rocking band Paramore in September 23rd on XBL, which is indicating that Valve could release the Crash Course DLC in the same day. Follow this link to see the full details. So September 23rd is a possible (not guaranteed) release date for the Crash Course DLC.

Boohoo, so people have to pay for extra content…. Games got lots of money to make. I see DLC as a way of expanding the experience. If a game was excellent and has some cool DLC coming out, I’ll buy it because the game was fun. If a game sucks, I won’t buy DLC.

PC gamers got it free. But Xbox 360 is a completely different platform. If they didn’t charge for it, then people would go “well thats unfair that we have to pay for everything else on marketplace”. Congrats on the PC version for getting free DLC, but PC doesn’t have a marketplace like Xbox does.

“That twitter account (valvenews) announced that it isnt Valve’s official twitter in May”

Can you give me a link to prove it?

One more thing, ‘EA’ official twitter is following ‘valve news’ so it can’t be fake. Check this http://twitter.com/EA.

  15. Lulz Lulz Said,

Epic fail. If earlier someone proved that Valve News is not valve’s twitter’s website, why would you continue to think that it’s still Valve? And even on that site, the dude clearly says “Well it seems like my sources weren’t right, they were bad” etc. Something along those lines. And even though EA follows Valve, the Valve News twitter hasn’t been posting utter bullshit until it’s recent message. My assumption is, the dude who made the “Valve News” site is in love with Valve, but likes to fuck with people.
