Public multiplayer beta for Modern Warefare 2, why not?
As you know by now, Robert Bowling community manager of Infinity Ward confirmed that gamers around the world will not get their hands on the much anticipated game Modern Warefare 2 before 10, November 2009, which is the official release date for the game. But why not since Infinity Ward’s 2007 hit Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare had a multiplayer beta on Microsoft’s Xbox Live prior to release.
I will explain why I’m concerned about this; first of all, most of the successful multiplayer games such as Halo 3, Call of Duty 4, and Killzone 2 has had benefited from the public beta that took place before those games set to be released. If Infinity Ward do a public beta, they can ensure the game to be as close as to glitches free and if they achieved this, Modern Warefare 2 gamers will be satisfied from the game since day one.
Do you remember the huge number of glitches Gears of War 2 had when it was released last year? Do you remember how many title updates the game got to fix its own glitches? That’s because the game hadn’t been tested enough before it was set to be released.
Even the highly polished game Uncharted 2 is having a public beta right now. I know that Infinity Ward is doing a closed beta for the press and they are testing the game by professional testers in the office, but in my opinion it isn’t enough to guarantee the game to be as perfect as fans of the franchise hopes for.
Modern Warefare 2 is going to be a very excellent game, I can guarantee this, but I’m very concerned about the multiplayer portion of the game, maybe I could be wrong, but I need the game to deliver an excellent experience from day one. So what do you think? Should the game have a public beta or it’s in good hands?

Yes I think it should be a public beta, Yes I am being selfish but i deserve to be with the amount of money I have invested in Infinity ward games and activision, I speak not for myself but for the hundreds of thousands of people doing the exact same thing! It is highly unfair that the two companies get a closed beta when nearly all of them get a free copy and WE the people have to pay the full price of the game and DLC.
