Testing the first version of damage in GT5 demo at Paris Game Festival. The lap was done in a way to view most of the possible car damage to discover how far would the damage have impact on both visual and driving aspects.
theres not much damage on the cars even at high speed, well at least its better than having none wotsoever, if polyphonic have limited the amount of damge that can happen on a car in a collision well this mite turn out to be a good thing, coz games like burout paradise when your car gets too damaged you dont feel like playing it with full attention anymore you just feel like smasing it up until it dies, limiting the damage in gt5 mite be a good thing from a gamers perspective
” limiting the damage in gt5 mite be a good thing from a gamers perspective” I totally agree, but I wont Rush things up, I’m just confident that the game will be PERFECT

graphics look good, damage looks fun. you dont want it too professional so its game over, but i think damage on your car should only play a little part in the game.
i dont want the engine to be finished, then have to start again, so i hope it stays as it is.
Im sorry you want it to be realistic but you dont want the engine to die :S thats dumb if you don’t want your engine to die Dont Crash (If your good enough)
Personally, headtracking in the cockpit has no interest for me. I honestly fail to see the point, although it will be nice to have a use for my Playstation Eye camera.
Simulation wise, the Forza games trump Gran Turismo. Don’t get me wrong… I love Gran Turismo series just as much as I love the Forza series… But in terms of realistic car balance/handling/performance Forza 2 was miles in front of Gran Turismo 4. Car quantity also doesn’t interest me. I don’t have a desire to drive numerous versions of an R32 Skyline for example.
Personally, I’m just glad I own both consoles, and will get to experience both games in all their glory. However, at this stage, my money is on Forza 3 being the better all round game. Obviously though, only time will answer that for me with certainty… and, it’s only a video game. Favorites come down to personal preference. If it turns out that YOU love Gran Turismo 5 the most, but I love Forza 3 the most… who am I to argue? The beauty of gaming is the fact there is something out there for all of us.

forza 2 is on the xbox 360 where as gt4 was on the ps2. how can you know whitch one is better before you play them :S the one released on the ps3 (gt prolouge) wasnt a full version but a “demo” version, so there hasnt been a proper gran turismo on the ps3 just yet. and forza 3 isnt even released. you cant love a game that you aint played :\ but i do agree on “The beauty of gaming is the fact there is something out there for all of us” (Y) and gran turismo is something for me
did you guys see that metal note getting inside the wheel ?

besides the damage doesn’t look so good in GT5
the only thing I like about it is the graphics and the 1000 freakin cars

You are aware that this is not the final damage model in the game, correct? This was clearly stated at GC this year.

Not very impressive, Forza 3 has better damage. F3 seems the better game allround

@ Ahkmel
Yeah except for graphically, and simulation wise, and number of cars, and full 3-d headtracked in cockpit view, you know but other than that lmao

A Head on collison at over 250 MPH would have made that car into a pancake.
