Game Master UK: Bayonetta is the first truly next generation action game

Bayonetta the highly anticipated action game from Platinum games has been getting some great review scores from the critics. Game Master UK has published another great review for Bayonetta in their Christmas issue by giving the game an excellent 93 out 100 score:
“The first truly “next generation” action game and the standard everyone else has to follow. [Christmas 2009, p.70]”
Check back tomorrow for our full review for Bayonetta. The game will be released for Xbox 360 and PS3 on January 5, 2010 in the US and three days later in the UK January, 8.

is this some sort off sick conspiracy or what?
I played the demo and it was above average but not great by any means. Why are we celebrating medicore bullshit which is above average at best. And talk about stealing ideas. First this rips of devil may cry to the bone, then dantes inferno decided to steal god of wars style, image, controls etc. Roll on god of war 3!! we need a breath of fresh air.

Bayonever is overrated, Heavenly Sword was the first truly next – generation action game and i doubt Bayonetta will even beat that let alone Dante’s Inferno let alone God Of War 3.

Lol, Heavenly Sword? Is this some kind of joke? That game was really bad… I mean, the parts where you could actually play it. Just do yourself a favour and download Bayonetta’s demo to see what a good game is all about!

The Bayonetta demo blew balls. It’s a button mashing fest, which isn’t a bad thing… but it’s nothing new. They just threw dozens of combos so that you could have fun button mashing.
I do like the combat though… and I would like the game… if they had built it around another character besides Bayonetta. She’s so freaking lame.
And to Joel… Heavnly Sword was awesome… you obviously never played it. It could have used more variety in the exploration… but the combat was top notch… probably the best this gen actually. Unlike Bayonetta, it WAS NOT just a button mash fest.

Joel, i doubt you’ve ever played Heavenly Sword. HS was amazing…..a little short but amazing. The combat was perfection. If you want to see what a GOOD game is all about then either pick up Heavenly Sword or wait for God Of War 3.

5 years into next gen and these guys are telling us after Uncharted 2, MGS4, Gears of War 2, Mass Effect and Modern Warfare that we FINALLY have a next gen game? BS of a demo, its a game where u get a nice first impression followed by a regretful aftertaste that just maybe there are better games out there.

wow you guys really love bayonetta dont ya?
seriously i can not see what all the hype is about.
bayonetta is a good game but no where near as good as people are saying.
its devil may cry 4 with better environments and better enemies, thats about it.
nothing ground breaking.
and nothing to have people frothing at the mouths like they are.
as for heavenly sword i would say its the best action game we have to today, till GOW3 comes out i cant see that changing.
O what i would do for a heavenly sword sequel.
luckily sony owns the IP and not ninja theory, so a sequel is possible, but doubtful

uh dude u retarded, the guy who made devil may cry made bayonetta, and heavenly sword sucked and was waaaaaaaaaaay over rated, cult classic status my ass, theres a reason sony didnt want a second one…and dont give me that great games dont usually get sequels crap, the force unleashed is getting a second run through, hs sucked. and anyone calling bayonetta average is on crack. also stop comparing gow and bayonetta, two completely different types of combat and story structures, bayonetta’s combat looks more fun to me plain and simple, even the ninja gadein team acknowledges the devil may cry teams abliliteis , however gow is going to be epic as well, story , combat, bad assness, its gonna have it all, so stop freaking out cuz u dont like the game or thought the demo was average, only fan boys who hate when games they dont like are getting perfect scores are the only ones that are bitching, think about it why would anyone bitch if a movie they werent interested won an academy award? no. cause their not interested. so dont play the game…but dont talk shit when amazing scores come rollin in.

bayonetta is good but ninja gaiden 2 is better.
so is dantes inferno, god of war 3, darksiders.
bayonetta has been getting much better reviews than darksiders, so that means bayonetta is a better game than darksiders which i find extremley hard to believe.
o BTW have you played the full game?
did not think so, so dont tell me whats better than what if you have not played the full game.
i played the first level of bayonetta and loved it, than the second, third, fourth and i sunk a little inside.
it starts so fast and does not change.
you hit the gas pedal from a standing start to 100MPH you feel the excitement.
sitting at 100MPH for hours is boring.

first off, you dont know what ive played second, what game dosnt give you more of the same?? did god of war change drastically? no it didnt. also ninja gaiden 2 being better is just how you feel but universally lets look at what reviews and critics and scores said….they said it was okay. thats it. no for bayonetta its being help as great and refreshing. and people like you cant stand it…why? cause a game where the American version isnt even out yet? perfect scores dont lie, clover wasnt known for making crap and all theyve done is simply changed there name… bottom line, the games design looks brilliant, does a game have to innovate to be fun and game of the year….NO!! it has to BE FUN. idiots.

Heavenly Sword was originally planned as a trilogy but i guess the dev team weren’t happy with the first game’s performance so they canned it. Heavenly Sword sold over a million copies though so it was far from a flop.

Good game but it really is overrated I would put it 8.5
BTW “The first truly “next generation” sure?? but why it has XBOX(the first one not the 360) graphs?

for me i play bayonetta demo ver i love it it’s good games
nice game play nice graphec but i prefer ninja gaiden2 as game play
it.s fast also the AI is outstanding very challnging
i know the game has techncal problem ^^

Heavenly Sword has the best combat this gen? That is hilarious. The combat is absolutely shoddy compared to DMC4/Gaiden 2. And this is clearly far superior. Or were IGN out of their minds giving it 9.5 and 9.6. Oh no, they were right. Cos the game is amazing. And compared 2 HS? Combat wise? This game shits on that from a height
