David Jaffe’s GOTY 09 is very unexpected

David Jaffe the director of the Twisted Metal series, God of War and one of the founders of Eat Sleep Play has unveiled his favorite game of 2009. No. It isn’t Modern Warfare 2 or Uncharted 2. It’s a very surprising choice of him. Are you wondering what’s his favorite game of 2009? Find your answer after the jump.
On his blog, he posted his thoughts on Indie games and unveiled that Flower is his GOTY 09. Though, he mentioned in his post that he hasn’t finished Uncharted 2 yet and so it could top Flower for him. It’s good to see a well known game developer like him choosing an under appreciated game like Flower to be his GOTY 09. What do you think of his choice?

That dude is all messed up on drugs and alcohol he’s washed up.
When has he dropped any game for his company none since he announced ESP.
I do respect what he has brought to gaming industry but come Jaffe thats a bad choice comparing a downloadable PSN game to those 2 strong titles which is cool but come son to Uncharted 2 n MW2. You’re definitely having suicidal thoughts big homie. Jaffe come on bro bring back what u created that was amazing like twisted metal and god of war.. Spill some secrets I know you working on something but damm how much longer. Peace..

flower was my goty as well. i played UC2, MW2, and a slew of other games this year as well, but no other game was able to move me emotionally as flower did. flower proved that gaming can be more than just running and gunning.

Flower was pretty good I had alot of un with it but not near as much as I enjoyed the narrative and amazing Cinematic gameplay the UC2 offered

Flower is great. I haven’t played it yet but just from watching the vids in youtube, I can say it deserves some GOTY awards. I hope there will be more games like Flower.

Apparently the word opinion doesn’t matter to fucking anybody in here. Yeah Flower doesn’t get my dick wet or anything but it’s good. Plus it’s a good sign that he’s not wasting time playing video games all day and working on this new Twisted Metal instead.
He never said it was the best game of 2009, he said it was his favorite.
