Aaron Greenberg comment on overall sales for 2009

With NPD sales numbers for 2009 has been completely revealed, Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg has posted a response to the overall hardware sales numbers for 2009. While he has praised the sales performance for all consoles, he wanted to remind gamers and industry experts that the Xbox360 has actually outsold the PS3 in 2009. Here is his full statement on his personal Twitter page:
“Since folks have asked, all systems had a great 2009, but US NPD console HW for 2009 shows Xbox 360 at 4.8M vs 4.3M for PS3.”
While the PS3 has outsold Xbox360 in December, Nintendo Wii was the best selling console in 2009 followed by the Xbox360 then at third place the PS3.

yeah cept the 360′s only strong point in the us, and it just beat the ps3. it outsold the 360 world wide, again

lol aaron greenburg does know that npd is only north america right, anyways i would like to see a site show ww numbers other than vg charts i dont trust them.

yeah well lets not forget NPD does not account for Amazon and other internet only outlets. Than you add the fact that this is only for the US, and not worldwide, where the PS3 obviously dominates.

Who really cares though? It’s not like 3rd party support is diminishing either way and that makes up the bulk of the games anyways. Fanboys can argue until their blue in the face about the few exclusives that come out each year.

360 did not outsell the PS3 in 2009, what kind of a retard said that? Worldwide sales figures for 2009 show the PS3 more than 2.2 million units ahead of the 360.
I know Microsoft are putting Greenberg’s meals on the table but does he really need to make an idiot out of himself in front of the whole world by spouting a load of BS? 360 outselling PS3? LOL……that’ll be the day.
