It’s long been known that “Project Needlemouse” announced by Sega last year was the codename for a new 2D Sonic the Hedgehog title. Sega has revealed that Project Needlemouse is Sonic the Hedgehog 4 which is a direct sequel to Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles. The game will be released episodically, with the first episode coming to PSN, Xbox Live Arcade and WiiWare this summer. check out the first trailer for the game:
