Splinter Cell Conviction got a great score from game informer
After the respectful score the game got from Edge magazine (8/10), I guess you are anticipating more reviews for the game in order to make your decision of buying the game or not an easier task. Anyway, In the latest issue of game informer, the magazine reviewed the game and gave the latest installment in the splinter cell series an impressive score (9/10).
The magazine praised the streamlined controls, the beautiful environments of the game, the excellent co-op experiences, and the fluid animation of Sam Fisher’s moves, at the same time, they complained about the overuse of the black and white effect (The effect which shows the player if he is in stealth mode or not):
- Graphics:
The environments are beautifully rendered, and Sam’s animations are killer. Black and White effects are used too freely, resulting in a detachment from the world.
- Sound:
Sam’s gravelly tones are fueled by emotion and backed by a suprisingly score.
- Playability:
I never once had to fuss with the controls. The stealth mechanics are easy to embrace, and the gunplay offers razor-sharp precision.
- Entertainment:
A Satisfying conclusion to Sam Fisher’s tale coupled with one of gaming’s most rewarding co-op experiences.
- Replay Value:
Moderately High.

Might be fun in co-op but i never really liked to play the splinter cell games alone and in co-op i only played the mini missions in chaos theory which weren’t to interesting.

WOW! it got a 9/10 great job but although uncharted 1,2 beat that hands down GOW3 another WINNER yea you guessed it another 10/10 ever witch way MS try’s to beat SONY down the ps3 just keeps slapping the DICK across the faces of MS and there games lmfao MS sucks!!!!!

Really Billyguns? is that why Sony STILL hasn’t released sales numbers of the disappointing God of War 3?
is that why Uncharted 2 is struggling to reach 2 million sold?
meanwhile Splintercell will sell 1 million in its first 2 weeks alone, and lets not even get on Alan Wake, Red Dead Redemtion, Crackdown 2 halo reach and whatever else MS decides to drop.
bottom line is Xbox 360 games have outsold PS3 games nearly 2 to one and Sony is STILL in last place.

This game is overrated and i have both xbox and ps3.There is nothing have to do with fanboyism.Not for me.I just say this game is overrated cuz its a Splinter cell.Nothing more.If a game is great.Dosnt matter if its on xbox or ps3.I will admit it.I waited for this game for 2 years and i though this game would be so sick too.But its not. Im really disappointed.Anyway you gonna see by yourself.If you gonna like it or not. But a lot of people will be disappointed.Check this out in 2 weeks.

and lol at the ms fanboys crying, yes unchartd 2 graphics destroy this, yes god of war destroys everything graphicaly, and gameplay wise, its got everything, and a ten hour campaign, if your good, roughly 12-14 normally speaking, and 15-20 if your crap.

and this game has a good replayable 5 hour campaign and another campaign for co-op which ive heard is quite replayable is well and this game is rated so high because*insert ign review here* and it is very good i can tell from the demo

No the graphics sucks at Splinter cell bro.Unreal engine sucks too.It seems only Epic game know how to use it well.Every other company have problem with it.Splinter cell have framerate drop,screen tearing and suffer from anti aliesing too.And i dont want a short 5 hours campaign too and evryone know the online will sucks too.My biggest disappointment of the year.Not what i expected from this game.OVERRATED.End of story!

Uncharted 2 was GotY for 2009 because every other game that year sucked. God of War 3 could’ve been ALOT better and is only a good game for the month since Final Fantasy 13 was a load of crap packed into a disc. I have to say the only good game that’s come out in a long time is Mass Effect 2. That game over does every other game that’s come out so far.

All of the games you guys are talking about look great. Splinter Cell Conviction is one of the best looking games on XBOX to date. It can display over 150 DYNAMIC light sources. Cast multiple shadows across various lights. It does run at a slightly lower res, but the upscaler works great. You have to see it in motion, (not the demo either, as it does not employ AA, or frame lock. The texture are great, and can compete with that of games like uncharted 2 or god of war 3. But the fanboys will always cry otherwise.

But ask yourself this fanboys, what does God of War 3 or Uncharted 2 do to that is different. Other than graphics and gameplay, nothing about them is new or changing anything. Splinter Cell is balancing stealth gameplay with action. Every other game in the genre forces you to do one or the other. The projection system is ingenious.The depth of field effects are so well done. In fact, the Uncharted developer said XBOX cant display thoses levels of depth of feild. Yet Conviction does this with ease.Those ideas will be copied and used in other game, just watch. I try not to side with one machine over the other, as I have both, but I play my XBOX more. I go to school for game design and I must say that Ubisoft has done it again. The game also only uses 85% of the 360 horse power. All the game mentioned are great, they just do not add or try anything new.

Also, so many people were enamored with the graphics of Uncharted 2 that no reviewer or fan review mention that the game has bugs, glitches, and A.I. problems. Many a time was I playing Uncharted 2 I would be with an A.I. partner and the enemy NPC would not recognize my ally. Even when they were right in front of them. So if I am seen they start to shoot, but my ally could stand in front of them fapping and the enemy would never notice. Went through walls too, as well as jumping from a 10 foot ledge killed me. God of War 3, animation could be a bit weird, as well as hit detection. Now, all games have these glitches, bugs ect. So does Conviction. But so many people cared only about graphics that they either fail to mention this or ignore it totally. But gameinformer, if they give a game like Unchated 2 a 10, with glitches and such, then Conviction should get a 10 as well.
