This is how Microsoft can win the upcoming E3
We aren’t at the half point of the year yet, and I think that every gamer agrees that the previous months were legendary times for the whole industry. Since this year started, a set number of high quality videogames get released every month leaving gamers pocket out of cash. The videogames industry really can’t get any hotter than this. But the important question is: Can the second half of the year get more interesting or can it top what we have already experienced so far? The answers to these questions will be answered in the upcoming E3. But in the meantime, Let me show you how Microsoft can blow us away and become the winner of the biggest videogame show on the planet.

I will be writing another article that will show you what Sony should do in the upcoming E3 in order to beat Microsoft. So, here we go:
1. Exclusives:
Microsoft has two big games that are coming after E3: Halo: Reach and Fable 3. After that Epic’s next epic Gears of War 3 will be released in April 2011. Then, what? Nothing has been announced. Here I’m not talking about the huge number of Natal based games that will be announced at E3, I’m talking about some Xbox360 exclusives that don’t need Natal to be great or innovative. Since Microsoft is targeting the casual gamers with project Natal, we hardcore gamers need our fix. E3 is the perfect time to do that and if Microsoft announced two or three hot exclusives games that will be released in 2011 and delivered on their promise with project Natal, then Microsoft will be closer to win the show.
2. Natal and Rare:
Microsoft wants project Natal to be big to help the Xbox360 in its fierce battle against Sony’s mammoth machine, the PS3. Project Natal destiny will be determined at this year’s E3. I’m pretty sure that we are going to see many Natal based games from third party studious, but I think that the spotlight will be focused on Rare and to a lesser degree on Lionhead studious to show us what really can Natal do. Rare has been silent for a long time, but don’t expect their silence to continue on and on the moment Microsoft E3 press conference begins. I know that Rare will show something like Wii sport or Wii play, but imagine that they show a sequel to Conker’s Bad Fur Day that can be played by both of Natal and the normal Xbox360 controller? A new Killer Instinct? Strong third party support for Natal? Peter Molyneux demonstrate Milo and everyone is happy with the results? Fucking awesome if all of that happens.
3. A new IP from Microsoft that can rival Halo:
Now, everyone knows that Halo: Reach will be the last Halo game from Bungie. The Halo franchise will stay exclusive to Microsoft no matter what, but I think that Microsoft really need to introduce a new big IP that has the potential to rival the Halo franchise in term of popularity. Gears of War and Mass Effect are big franchises, but Microsoft doesn’t own the IPs. I’m talking about a franchise that will never ever be available on the competing platforms. Sony has Uncharted and God of War, Nintendo has Mario and Zelda. Microsoft has Halo and Fable, but they have the money and resources to create the new Halo and prove to the world that they don’t need Bungie at all.
4. FF versus XIII goes multiplatform:
In 2008 E3 gaming expo, the gaming world went crazy when Yoichi Wada took the stage to announce that FFXIII will be no longer exclusive to the PS3. FFXIII has sold more than 1 million copies since it was released on the Xbox360 in March 2010 and helped the latest game in the series to become the fastest selling game in the series. So it sold well and it happened before, will it happen again? Highly likely.
5. An enhanced and cheaper Xbox live and a slimmer and cheaper Xbox360:
Xbox live is great, but truth to be told, Sony is doing a great job with the PSN. Yes, I know that there are some features that do give the XBL the edge over PSN. But I think that the PSN is getting closer and closer to match the XBL. The upcoming E3 is the right time for Microsoft to lower the XBL subscription fee or to introduce some new and strong features that justify the paid service. Also, a slicker and slimmer 250GB Xbox360 bundled with Project Natal with a $299 price taq will be a killer blow for Sony.
It isn’t necessary for Microsoft to do all of that to win the show (as they can shock us with some unexpected announcements), but I think that Xbox360 owners (including me) will be more than satisfied if they managed to do what I discussed in this article. What do you think? How can Microsoft win the upcoming E3?

LOL ur living in cloud cukoo land mate

PSN is nowhere near XBL. Not just in numbers but in quality and easy to use interface.
XBL doesn’t need to really be cheaper, the price keeps people from being able to just get a new gamertag when the old one is banned etc.. MS will win E3 based on the likes of Halo Reach, Natal, Slim 360, Fable 3, Crackdown 2 and some surprises I’m sure.

Xbox Live is overrated, and with most of the features.
Halo Reach is fail, not even a true to be title of the series, besides Socom, Killzone 3, Black Ops, MoH, and so many other shooters out play it. Fable 3 is garbage same shit. Crack Down 2 is utter garbage.
Natal is a flat out joke, suck my cock.
I AM SELLING MEH XBOX3FIXME, PLUS PSN IS GETTING SUBSCRIPTION BASED SERVICE BITCH.

Im hoping half life 2 episode 3 is given a release date. Also an anouncement for Onimusha 5 and a hitman would make this the best e3 ever.

people can some up natal with one word”BAAMMM” because it failed at last years e3 and nothing has been shown about it other than the laggy red ball game in over a year. ff vs 13 being on xbox 360 would mean that the game would be gimped and i guess xbox 360 fanboys would love that because they dont like quality games. they prefer having mediocre games with mediocre to bad graphics and a p2p server system that they pay for while it lags a lot. to each his own but i prefer quality with everything and the xbox 360 and its whole system setup is utter rubbish . the xbox 360 has hdmi 1.2, dvd 9, doesnt upscale movies , battery packs, no wifi built in, xbl is laggy, games are below ps3 exclusives in everyway. after five years the xbox 360 still hasn’t had a game that surpasses a 2007 game called uncharted. people can talk about all sorts of rubbish but there is no defending an inferior product with a failure rate of 50%.

XBOX 360 is running out of gas … Natal is the only new thing they can offer
I doubt Microsoft will put out a XBOX 360 slim as that requires a redesign
The original design was so poorly designed, noisy as a vacuum cleaner and >50% failure rate
Let the trumpets play for Halo Reach, Gears of War 3 and Alan Wake – then may XBOX 360 RIP
Natal = Nothing more than a SONY PS2 Eyetone Clone with a microphone – not enough accuracy and really childish – you need a controller with buttons this time around

1: Sony will dominate everyone with the quantity/quality of their exclusives.
2: Move & Sucker Punch.
3: Nothing will rival Halo except for Killzone 3 which will not be on the 360.
4: Not going to happen. If it does the game will not reach it’s full potential
5: LMAO!!! You actually believe that is going to happen!!!!!.

MS has stil alot of card in its sleeve.
- Sony lost the battle in the most important region. USA is Xbox and will keep beeing Xbox territory ’till the last. In Europe Sony will slowly pass 360 but this generation is getting over too. What’s the value in gaining a gap when the game’s over?
- MS has just delivered the wonderful Alan Wake. And it will sell because it deserve to do it. After we’ll see: CrackDown 2, Halo Reach, Fable 3, Mass Effect 3, Gears 3. Have you a slight idea of how many million of sales these games combined will do? Just imagine these games and a price cut (that I’m sure will be annunced at E3).
- Natal/Arc show the difference between MS and Sony. Maybe that Natal will be a big bullshit blown out of proportions, but MS is seriously investing in it. The talking is going on and, above all, the developers are on it. Much more than on Arc.
- I agree that I would like to hear about new projects for the 360 without Natal but I think that all the above exclusives plus all the multiplatform goods (Fallout Vegas, Dead Space 2, Dragon Age 2, Gothic 4, Two Worlds 2, Lord of Shadows, …) will really keep me busy ’till easter of 2011.
And may be that Natal will give us something good, don’t you think?
And we have yet to see where Itagaki’s new game will arrive, we heard about a new JRPG in works for 360, there’s a rumor about Forza 4 and I don’t see why MS will stop giving 360 users some exclusive content on multi games like they did in all the past years.

I don’t think Final Fantasy Versus XIII will be going multiplatform, there’s a different team working on it and they are more familiar with the PlayStation franchise than the Xbox franchise judging by their development history (Kingdom Hearts).
Also, Steve, Sony has way better exclusives than Microsoft. I’m not sure how USA is the most important region either, if Sony dominates Japan and now Europe, those 2 overpower the USA in sales. And what do you mean this generation is over? The PlayStation 3 has pretty much outsold the Xbox 360 in most countries the two compete in. Overall, in Europe, the PlayStation 3 has already outsold the Xbox 360. Adding to this, the Xbox 360 released 1 year earlier as well. So when you’re saying the generation is over, it’s basically you running off like a coward because you know the PlayStation 3 is going to outsell the Xbox 360, even if it takes another 1 – 2 years. The generation is over for Xbox 360, after Gears of War 3, but PlayStation 3 will continue to do well.

Heummm guys… is everybody is dumb on this planet… Nobody will die! lolll even if one beat the other… both have enough money to be there in the next 3 generation off gaming console…
The guy that told Xbox have USA is surely an American… USA is not bigger than all other country in the world… wake up buddy
What about FF Versus XIII on 360… If microsoft put the money on the table like they did on every exclusivity they did’nt make by themself they will surly have it too…
And Natal… What a joke please Microsoft don’t sell it for the Xbox 360… wait for next generation cause the 360 is too old for this… wait to have a console with blueray… Better technologie in it.
If someone is hopping that XBL will be cheaper… Forget it right away MS is after your money guy don’t forget it. If everybody pay XBL the price it is right now… Why reduce the price? Just tell me why!
Finally… A Xbox 360 Slim… Why? overheat problem again? Microsoft will surely not make a 360 slim… they did not whit the original Xbox and I doubt it’s in their plan.

The ONLY thing xbl has that psn don’t is cross game chat…it’s in there, but cannot select it. Reach looks good as well as Gears 3. But Project natal is a bust, think about it what kind of games can you actually play without buttons? I’m not a fanboy, I got both systems but I prefer the ps3 and psn cuz I don’t have to hear lil kids thinking there some kind of online gangsta, lol. Most 360 players are for lil people..nerds n all. But if you think about the games for project natal, who the hell wants to talk to the fuckin t.v? Who wants to play lets hit the red ball and watch it lag? Who wants to play xbl and lag? Again I’m not a fanboy, I thought mass effect 2 was a great game, as well as left 4 dead series. But ps3 shows us something new, more power, better sound, less lag, and the psn players are not haters when you do good. Bottom line…project natal is a copy of eyetoy and will fail like the eyetoy….I garantee it
